Hi. I'm Carolyn.
As a feminist Wiccan priestess, I draw from my Celtic background and specialize in co-created participatory ritual that honors the unique moment and people present with Earth-based symbols and traditions. I am ordained to perform legal weddings in any state and am certified in interspiritual guidance.
I was trained and ordained in 2000 at the Artemis Institute in Sebastopol, California. I then received an additional ordination from the eco-feminist American Priestess ministry associated with Belladonna Sanctuary. In January 2025, I was certified as a spiritual guide by the Spiritual Guidance Training Institute.
In addition, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Literature and Theory of Outsiders in American Society, a minor in Spanish language, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, and have an extensive background in theatre. Professionally, I have directed community engagement for multiple public health research projects over the past 25 years.
I've taught classes in beginning and intermediate Wicca (Year and a Day program), supported numerous couples with co-created weddings, and organized many public ceremonies and events. I love to peceive energetic needs present and then bring my decades of experience to bear in acknowledging and expressing the unique beauty of any particular moment and group gathered. That is an artform for me.
I live with my loving family and community in Berkeley, CA.

Activism and Community Building
I am the founder of Bay Area Rising, (part of V-Day's One Billion Rising), a nonprofit that brings together a powerful network of artists, spiritual leaders, and activists dedicated to ending violence against women and girls.
I have volunteered my services for several wonderful groups, including providing guided imagery for low-income women living with cancer at the exceptional Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic in Oakland and San Francisco for over 13 years.
Most recently, I am acknowledged in the award-winning journalist and social activist Naomi Klein’s tour de force This Changes Everything, this era’s game-changing book about global warming.
